Nuverb Diagnostics V1.00

These diagnostics are adapted from our manufacturing tests and require
some care to run.

Before running NuverbDiags, make sure you know the Macintosh slot number
of the Nuverb card you wish to test:

  1. If your card is inside your Mac, run Slotlook.

Note that slot numbers that are letters really mean hex numbers. Make the
following translation:
		A = 10, B = 11, C = 12, D = 13, E = 14 and F = 15.
If Slotlook doesn't find any Nuverb cards, your card is either installed
incorrectly or not working.

	2. If your card is in a Digidesign expansion chassis, the slot number can be
read directly from the rotary switch in front of the slot. Generally Slotlook
will not find cards in the Digidesign expansion chassis. However there is a utility
distributed with the box that performs a similar function and you can use that.

Now you can run NuverbDiags. When it comes up, type the following at the " > "prompt
observing spacing and capitalization. Items inside of "< >" are command keys on your
computer:

> SetSlot number<return>

where "number" is the decimal slot number you have already determined. If you
have the wrong slot number, continuing will probably cause a bus error!

Now type the text below:

> script NuverbDiagScript<return>

The script takes a few minutes to run. It runs several tests, each should say
"PASSED", and eventually you should see"

Script PASSED
Script complete
>>

Type:

>> quit<return>

or quit from the "File" menu.
